Danger/Fear
In this picture we decided to use an over the shoulder camera angle from a higher perspective to establish dominance of the character in the foreground. The higher angle shows that the character lower down is inferior and that something bad will soon happen to them and the over the shoulder perspective establishes the position of the characters. We used the face mask to convey a sense of anonymity and the gun to further express the feeling of danger and fear.
Loneliness
For this picture we decided on a wide shot in order to both establish the setting and to isolate the subject of the picture so that she is clearly alone, apart from other people. A canted angle was used to give a slightly disorientating feel to the picture. We used the lightness of the grass to make the seat seem more dark in the shadows, connoting the loneliness that the subject feels.
Love
We used a wide shot for this picture to show that the couple were in there own world. It would have been a good idea to use a higher aperture to give a lower field of view to signify that the couple were the focal point of the picture and that they were in their own world.
In the picture we used a medium shot at a low angle in order to connote a sense of power and authority. The subject sat in such a way that seems boastful, which the medium shot helps to portray as it allows us to view the subject's attire and expressions. We should use a higher aperture to make the money the clear focal point of the picture, this would clearly show wealth, we would also do this by making more light shine on the money, to show that once again it is the focal point of the picture.
Poverty
We used an over the shoulder shot and a high angle in this picture. The high angle was to show inferiority and the over the shoulder angle shows the focus of the picture clearly, while still giving us the perspective of the person in the picture. We could have used a point of view shot instead as it would show the viewer exactly what the subject sees, thus creating a more powerful image.
Some really good analysis here Raffi - you are going to do well. On the wealth one I think you meant a lower aperture? Otherwise, you have used the terminology of angle and distance correctly and made thoughtful points.
